MyConsumables NDIS Marketplace App
A healthcare marketplace app designed to simplify how people access NDIS consumables. I led the end-to-end development—from scoping features and designing user flows to building the app with a small dev team. Key features include product browsing, order tracking, and support for NDIS claims. Built with small providers and everyday users in mind.

Overview
Building from zero: Took the project from idea to launch—helping shape the product vision, defining core features, and translating complex NDIS workflows into a simple user experience.
Wearing multiple hats: Acted as product manager, lead developer, and sometimes designer—balancing priorities, coordinating with stakeholders, and making key tech decisions.
Team leadership: Assembled and led a small dev team, set up workflows, and handled sprints to keep things on track.
NDIS integration: Navigated the complexity of NDIS requirements to ensure the platform stayed compliant while remaining user-friendly.
Tight timelines: Delivered the MVP on a lean timeline, using iterative feedback and fast prototyping to keep momentum.
To bring MyConsumables to life, I focused on building a clean, intuitive app tailored for NDIS participants and providers. I started by mapping out user journeys and essential features, then selected a tech stack that balanced speed and scalability.
We developed a modular, API-driven architecture that made it easy to integrate future services like order tracking and claim support. I also established a simple but effective design system to ensure consistency across screens.
By working closely with stakeholders and iterating quickly, we launched a reliable MVP that’s already helping users manage consumables more easily.
Research
Before writing any code, I spent time understanding the real pain points of NDIS participants, carers, and providers. This involved:
Getting ideas from NDIS providers
Reviewing NDIS guidelines to ensure compliance in claims and invoicing
Analyzing competitor apps and websites to find gaps in usability and accessibility
These insights shaped our feature priorities—like simplifying reordering, offering NDIS-friendly invoices, and designing for users with varying tech confidence.
The research helped keep the app practical, inclusive, and focused on real-world value.
Design
The goal was to create a simple, accessible interface that worked for a wide range of users—especially those unfamiliar with tech.
Key design decisions included:
Clean, minimal UI: Prioritized clarity over clutter, using large buttons, readable fonts, and straightforward navigation.
NDIS-friendly flows: Designed the ordering and checkout process to match how NDIS participants and carers typically manage their budgets.
Mobile-first approach: Optimized for mobile use, with responsive layouts and fast load times for users on the go.
Reusable components: Built a consistent design system to ensure scalability and speed up development.
The result is an app that feels familiar, easy to use, and aligned with the real needs of its users.
